Appointments and Home Visits
Routine and same day appointments
If you would like to see the doctor at the surgery please phone 0844 815 1425 or come into the practice to make an appointment. Appointments are at 10 minute intervals but we do realise that some problems may take longer than others. If you have more than one problem to discuss or you feel your problem is complicated then please make a double appointment with the doctor.
If you feel that you have a serious problem which will not wait, you can be seen by our Nurse Practitioner, appointments become available each morning from 8:30am - 12:30pm, 3pm - 6pm each Monday and Tuesday and 1:30pm - 4:30pm each Wednesday and Friday.
Home visits
If you are housebound or have a severe illness that makes you unable to come to surgery you can request a home visit. You or somebody on your behalf, will need to contact the surgery before 10 am and request this. The receptionist will ask a few questions - this is to help the doctor prioritise their calls, but the doctor will call you back.
Please be aware that if you are asked if you can get into surgery, this is because it is better to examine patients in the surgery, we have more equipment and can carry out more tests in the surgery.
Other ways of receiving help
You may wish to get help with a medical problem or query in ways other than seeing your GP. Many conditions and queries can be dealt with over the phone. We have a range of other Health Professionals other than the doctor who can help you.
Phone advice
If you feel you have a problem which can be dealt with over the phone, you can request a telephone consultation. The receptionists can take your number and the doctor would be happy to return your call on the same day.
Things that can be dealt with over the phone:
-
Advice about treating minor illnesses.
-
Queries about hospital appointments can normally be dealt with by our secretaries.
-
Queries about forms and sick notes can normally be dealt with by our admin department.
-
Advice on medication.
-
Morning after contraception.
Practice nurse care
Our practice nurses are experts in helping patients deal with long-term illnesses and conditions and helping you to keep healthy. Please use their services rather than the doctors.
We have Health Care Assistants who can check your blood pressure, carry out blood tests, provide diet advice, respond to general fitness enquiries and carry out well person checks. Just ring and arrange an appointment.
